  5. QUESTION:
Better to take flaxseed oil by teaspoon or in capsule form?
Will it make a difference? I'm going to use it to help keep eczema at bay...

    Thanks : )

    • ANSWER:
Begin by taking it as drops on the tongue.Convince yourself that that a medicine is a medicine and not a chocolate. You will then find the taste agreeable. If you still have trouble, take capsules. They have the advantage that they will be absorbed directly in the intestines and you can be saved the eructations.. But they are less effective than the directly used oil which starts breaking down right in the stomach and gets to react with the digestive acids and work much more effectively on your skin.

  6. QUESTION:
    Flaxseed meal vs flaxseed oil?
Hi! My son is 3 yrs old and 30 lbs I add a little flaxseed meal to his meals or drinks. Usually about 1 tablespoon tops a day. Is this too little/too much? Would I be better using flaxseed oil? I use it to help him with his skin health (he has eczema, bad and a lot of allergies to food, etc)

    • ANSWER:
Well, that does seem like a bit much for a 3 year old. Typically, adults are recommended to take 2-4 tbsp per day, so it's not a horribly huge amount, but I do tend to err more on the side of caution with infants.
Yes, Flaxseed Oil would be better for skin and cardiovascular health than the meal itself... it's richer in the Omega 3, 6, and 9 Essential Fatty Acids while the Flaxseed Meal has more fiber in it. I would aim at 1/2 tsp or so at the most for an infant, but your best bet would be to consult a doctor that knows about supplements for either of these. Good luck and I hope I helped!

  11. QUESTION:
Does eczema/psoriasis benefit from Vitamin C and Vitamin A supplements?
I am taking a combination of evening primrose, flaxseed oil, vitamin A and vitamin C capsules...

    • ANSWER:
What you are taking is a good combination. You need to take high doses (over 5g) of evening primrose and flaxseed oil for them to be beneficial. Get the liquid form if you can. Vitamin C and A are good. Try to get a non-acidic vitamin C. Do not take more than 2g since high doses have been found to be connected to kidney problems. Do not overdose on vitamin A either - not good for the liver.

Also consider taking Vitamin B complex and magnesium. They can relieve stress, especially if the eczema/psoriasis is stressful for you. Those supplements have helped me a lot thus far.

Vitamin E can be helpful topically, but can cause more inflammation for some eczema sufferers when taken internally.

Consider drinking one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (raw and unfiltered) with water once a day. It may help.

  14. QUESTION:
    Question on Eczema?
3 months old baby developed eczema when he was 1.5 months old. I am now giving him probiotic and I am taking 2 tbl. spoon of flaxseed oil everyday. I want to know if the probiotic that he is taking will help the eczema to go away.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi,
The skin is generally dry in eczema. After a good bath, the skin feels good due to hydration. The moisture in the skin can be retained by applying a layer of lubricating cream to the entire skin while it is damp. Apply it daily after the steroid cream has been applied to the itchy areas. Avoid applying any ointments or petroleum jelly because they block the sweat glands, increase the itching, and worsen the rash, especially in warm weather. Also, soap is needed to wash them off, which can aggravate the problem.

Keep the fingernails cut short as the scratching with nails will perpetuate the vicious cycle of itching. Frequent hand washing will avoid any super-infection of the eczema.

      How can it be prevented?

Scratchy, rough and woolly clothes make eczema worse and should be avoided. Cotton clothes are good and should be worn as much as possible. Avoid triggers like excessive heat, sweating, excessive cold, dry air, chlorine, harsh chemicals, and soaps.

  15. QUESTION:
IS ANY ONE USED BIO GEM HERBAL SKIN LOTION FOR ECZEMA, PSORIASIS & VITILIGO? PLS HELP?
Today pollution is posing an enormous challenge to Mother Nature herself. All the creatures on the face of the earth - be it plants, animals, or even human beings - have all become victims of this pollution, and are suffering directly or indirectly from its consequences. A vast majority of serious diseases occurring in human body is being increasingly attributed to this evil.

Amongst all the affected organs of human body, it is the SKIN which bears the maximum brunt of pollution for obvious reasons of its direct exposure to the environment. Furthermore, even many of the symptoms of the diseases affecting other internal organs also manifest themselves on the skin as well, in some cases rather as the first indication of the disease process. Some of the most prevalent manifestations on the skin are in the form of itching, eruptions, rashes, ringworm, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, etc..

The worst scenario is the vicious cycle of disease and medication, which further complicates the issue. People at large are subjected to strong and harmful medications, including steroids, often involving prolonged and expensive treatments, which neither treat us in true sense of the word nor allow us to withdraw from this vicious process. Most of the medicines available in the market today, except the natural formulations, contain harmful chemicals, including steroids, which suppress the disease instead of curing it, and after a span of time these suppressed diseases reappear in the body with even more severe intensity, thereby leaving the patients helpless and making their lives tougher rather.

We by no means can substitute the nature but at least we can utilize its soothing effect to take care of and nourish our most abused organ, i.e., the SKIN. The herbal preparations pamper our skin and don't cause any side effects as against the strong chemical-based modern medicines.

After keeping all this in mind, KDN Doctors & Researchers have developed a wonderful natural skin lotion, BIO GEM Herbal Skin Lotion, to heal & to protect skin from these diseases.

Bio Gem herbal skin lotion is an innovative formula which is 100% natural, herbal & very beneficial in all types of skin problems, e.g., Eczema, Psoriasis, Vitiligo and even other skin disorders like Scabies, Ringworm Infection, Urticaria, Sun Burns, Redness, Itching, Scaling, Inflamed area, Blisters, Cracks, Insect bites etc. Bio Gem Herbal Skin Lotion can be used by men and women of all age groups. 16. QUESTION:
My 4.5 year old son has dry eczema. What helps the chronic itch?
He's very itchy & he often gets short tempered from it. He's allergic to dust mites, pollen, mold, rice, corn, soy, & egg. I bought a Hepa filter vacuum, encased his bedding to keep dust mites away, run air purifiers, change the furnace filter frequently, use fragrance free detergents, run clothes through a second rinse cycle, use no dryer sheets, keep baths tepid & brief, lotion with Eucerin immediately afterward, & have him wear only cotton clothes. I can honestly say NONE of this has made a difference. He starts Kindergarten in the Fall & I worry about him. How can he concentrate if he's itchy? Keeping my child drugged on Benadryl indefinitely isn't an option to me. I currently started him on probitotics with his allergists approval & give him 2 tsp. ground Flaxseed in his cereal every morning. I'm now trying Emu oil on him. I spend all my free time searching for answers. Has anyone found relief from dry eczema? Perhaps a Homeopathic Dr. is my next step. Thank you in advance for any help!

    • ANSWER:
i have had eczema AND psoriasis since i was born and i'm going to be 16, even though eczema can't be cured the symptoms can be helped. First to get rid of any possibility of irritation don't wash him with soap unless its dove. Also use Purex Free and Clear. This has no dyes or scents in it so the skin won't get irritated. Try Eucerine and Aquafore. These are over the counter ointments/creams that really do help. If he has a bad itchy rash put him in the tub for 15 minutes with nothing in there and let him soak. Meanwhile take his pjs dunk them in water, and then put them in the dryer to get warm. Take him out of the tub put on the perscription or the Eucerine/Aquafore all over his body and put the wet pjs on. This is so the moisture stays on his skin because people with eczema don't have the moisture layer like normal skin because the skin cells reproduce quicker. Also to get rid of the flakes use a soft bristle, anything will work and lightly go over his body when he's in the tub to get rid of the irritating flakes that may cause him to itch. We have tried everything for my skin but that's usually the way we keep it under control. Sometimes the just you see is dry skin that came off his skin, like my house i dust constantly because dust is made up of other things and your own skincells but mine is so bad that i dust all the time.
Also don't let him have acid foods like tomatoes and oranges. When i was little like 3 or 4 my dad showed me pictures of me after i ate pasta with tomator sauce. of course little kids get it everywhere and he said that when he took off the noodles and wiped off my arm there would be a red ring that would burn me and turn into a patch of eczema, and it still happens like that today. Anything can irritate it also, try to stay away from hair dye or any hair chemicals that you might use or someone might use. They will burn his skin. I got a perm and that was terrible the solution burned my scalp, my forehead, my ears, and my neck and i got first and second degree burns from it. And i still have scares to prove it. And even though the burns are gone, my head is now a problem area because it burned away the healthy skin so it itches constantly and i get patches on my forhead all the time.

Thats all the advice I can give you, hope it helps! check ya later ♥

  17. QUESTION:
My 4.5 year old son has dry eczema. He's a very itchy little guy and has many allergies.?
He's very itchy & he often gets short tempered from it. He's allergic to dust mites, pollen, mold, rice, corn, soy, & egg. • ANSWER:
My son looked like he had raw hamburger on his body for a long while. He too was allergic to many things ie mold, dog hair, carpeting, dryer sheets. He could touch the carpet with bare skin and start breaking out in a horrible rash. We gave him cool oatmeal baths when he had been exposed to something we knew would be a problem. Then put a shea butter cream on him to keep his skin soft and not so flaky. In the morning he got a cool bath and then a beeswax, olive oil combination on him where he usually broke out the most (wrists, behind the knees, neck).
We cut out milk products for a long while, apparently in some people it can supress the immune system a bit. We figured he was having a hard enough time fighting off the constant rash why add one more thing to it.
On top of flax seed (I'm impressed you got him to eat it!) We started eating more tuna and salmon.
We never used Benadryl or the Dr reccommended topical steriod creams. We found out that it was going to probably make him worse in the long run. So we found another Dr who understood what we were trying to do, he helped us monitor him.
The lady who made the olive oil beeswax cake: The Beekeeper's Secret PO BOX 806 Medina WA 98039
      The Shea butter cream: www.midanierbe.it
I'd like to give thanks to my mom for finding and buying those things for my son. It was terrible seeing him that way and now his body has had a chance to fight it off. He still has the very rare breakout but nothing like it was before. He turns 5 in December and is looking to go to school as well. Good luck to you both!

PS The Shea butter cream is high concentration and works great on burns. The Beekeeper's Secret works great around the eyes to get rid of baggy spots.

  18. QUESTION:
Allergy !!! What these foods have in common?
Uill now I found that my eczema is worse if i drink all these foods: herbs, clay water, apple juice, carrot juice, olive oil, flaxseed oil, beer, wine, swedish bitters, wheat bran and I think that even oily vitamin capsules. E My question is, what all they have in common?

    • ANSWER:
I get eczema from eggs, eggs cooked any which way exasperates the condition. Also soaps that are lotion-based also affects my hands. Too much lanolin or moisturiser absorbs too quickly and causes the skin to become "soggy". Long showers or in circumstances where my hands are in water also is a problem.

The Vitamin E might be too "oily" for your skin even though they say it is good for the skin. Oil substances seem to affect soft skin and are more for people with hard, dry skin. Juices contain citric acid so may also be affecting you.

All those substances are either oily, citric acidic, or contain Vitamin E.

  19. QUESTION:
Breast Enlargement Idea ~I'd like some feedback~?
PLEASE READ, THIS IS VERY BENEFICIAL. I've spent hours upon hours reading different ways to increase breast size.
The pills are worth hundreds of dollars, with only a slight chance of working, why would you do that? Also with breast enhancement pills, there are other ingredients in those pills the manufacture isn't making completely known, only after doing research on different pills have I found out what is in them. Some have little bits of harmful ingredients while others are completely filled. Some are made all natural, but still have that little hint of danger, and still, are all expensive.
Breast Augmentation is something completely different. Costing a range anywhere from 00-,000. Going under the knife, leaves scars and sometimes unevenness. Would you really waste 00 on lopsided breasts? Good idea for some, not so for others. Either not having the money, or the dangers involved. They do say breast augmentation has gotten safer over the years, but still, there is ALWAYS a danger with any type of surgery.
Between the pill and the surgery, I've considered one, then the other, then back to one. I'm unhappy with the size of my breasts, and I always have. I can easily have the money for surgery, but don't want the scars, I'm not wasting money on pills that can damage my health and have no affect on my bust.
So, sitting and reading on what affects breast and their growth, I've read a few good things.
-Estrogen is a hormone that comprises a group of compounds, including Astron, Estrada and Estrella. It is the main sex hormone in women and is essential to the menstrual cycle. Although estrogen exists in men as well as women, it is found in higher amounts in women, especially those capable of reproducing. Anyways, when you're pregnant your estrogen levels rise, and well, your breast are noticeably larger. After reading and confirming, estrogen is the main hormone connected with breast growth. If you want larger breasts, here's what you can do:
Start eating different foods that have a higher level of estrogen. Apples, Cherries, Grapes, Tomatoes, and Pomegranates all have a good amount of estrogen. Apples especially. Alfalfa has high traces of phytoestrogens which is called dietary estrogens. Which means it acts like estrogen. Soy is also very high in estrogen, but a warning, soy extracts are BAD for you. If you are going to eat soy, cook your own soy, no soy extracts. Protein laden foods such as: fresh milk, fish, soy products, nuts and seafood, are also said to increase bust. Very last, flaxseed oil! Flaxseed oil is high in fatty acids and omega 3, 6+9. Very good to take for breast enhancement. And if in the end you don't see you bust grow, flaxseed oil capsules also:
Lower cholesterol, protect against heart disease and control high blood pressure, Counter inflammation associated with gout, lupus and fibrocystic breasts, Control constipation, haemorrhoids, diverticular disorders and gallstones, Treat acne, eczema, psoriasis, sunburn and rosacea, Promote healthy hair and nails, Minimise nerve damage that causes numbness and tingling as well as other disorders, Reduce cancer risk and guard against the effects of ageing, Treat menopausal symptoms, menstrual cramps, female infertility and endometriosis, Fight prostate problems, male infertility and impotence.
All the food I've listed are healthy, and are not harmful to your health. Also, if you plan to change your diet, as with any diet do not do it in an extreme way. Slowly work the different foods into your already existing diet, this is best for you and your body.

    • ANSWER:
I think that's great advice. You did a great job with the research, information and such.

I went to the doctor with eczema, he recommended a steroid cream, I wasn't happy about it, so changed my diet. Turned out to be an allergy to wheat/dairy products. I am not saying this is the case with your daughter, just letting you know the possibility. Mine is controlled (completely) by diet - creams have been thrown away.
